There are some missions that have a bit of time pressure, one or two in which your dungeon’s heart is at significant peril and a few that throw in something entirely unexpected. Gameplay still revolves around digging tunnels, building rooms and conquering the overworld with your creatures but every new mission has something to set it apart from the ones that came before. The campaign has doubled in size and offers a bit more variation in its 20 missions.
In fact, at first glance you could easily mistake Dungeons 3 for its older sibling until you go a little deeper and reach the areas where the developer Realmforge Studios played around with and tweaked some of the game’s core concepts. Dungeons 3 looks and feels very much like its predecessor, which is a good thing if you loved that game as much as I did. Starting the game felt like submerging myself in a warm bath of familiarity. Leave it up to Evil to stir things up and draft Thalya to his cause. Raised by a do-gooder hero of the kingdom, Thalya has all but lost her evil streak. Although… A Dark Elf named Thalya resides in the Kingdom. The Kingdom to the West is looking very promising indeed but is just out of reach.
After conquering every conceivable dungeon and the entirety of the overworld in Dungeons 2, Evil has grown restless and bored and is looking for some fun. In conclusion, Dungeons 3 may not be my cup of tea, but I do see how great it is for lovers of the genre.Dungeons 3 puts wannabe dungeon masters back in the shoes of The Ultimate Evil. Your enemies will be stronger and tougher as it goes and you can not ignore this part….

The one thing that I would like to mention when you are building your dungeons… Do keep in mind that this game is very balanced and that you should remember to properly balance your dungeon and do not forget to upgrade when possible. I estimate around 40 to 60 hours of gameplay depending on how deep into the lore you will go. The value for this title is great if you are into it. It unfolds quite nicely as you go, I do recommend the game for lovers of the genre but for those among us that dislike chore-games, I would check some gameplay videos beforehand. Storywise, you got a more or less Hobbit story, a possessed girl in this case. The constant getting money to research stuff to expand my evil minion empire to get more evilness to in return use that, it got old soon. Once I got things working, it did improve but not great though. No sir, you are commanding the evil underground troops in a real-time strategy that may reminisce most Dungeon Keeper players from olde.Ī lot of the mechanics implied in this game rely on the gamer’s desire to do repetitive tasks and well, I did get kind of bored with some of them due to the fact that the controls played a little janky. In itself, Dungeons 3 is kind of atypical as you are the root of evil and not the handsome prince leading the armies against the forces of nature. In short, it has the usual issues that many games have if they were originally meant for PC.

While in full disclosure we did not play everything, we did go through most of the game that we liked but not loved.
